Movies

I remember that when I was a child I loved a movie called The Land Before Time. It was about a little dinosaur and his friends, and a lot of adventures that they have. It was a serie of movies about it. And I saw they all.

I really like to go to the cinema, but to watch movies with a lot of special effects, maybe movies without a lot of content, but I preffer to watch more complex movies at home. 

A few weeks ago I watch a movie called "Could Atlas", Tom Hanks stars in this film. It is a really complex movie, because it shows six stories at the time, from the XIX Century, to a post-apocaliptic future, showing allways the same actors doing diferents roles. The movie talk about how the actions of a person affect other people's life now and in the future. I really reccomend it, it makes you think and is really entertaining.

I really like watching movies, and I enjoy  spending some of my free time on it.  

Italy

Beautiful places, good food, and a lot of history. If I could choose any place in the world to visit I would choose Italy. I really like the historical places there, the italian food is my favourite and I have listen that the people there is very nice, so I think that I could have a very good time there.

A friend how visit Italy tell me that is a very good place to go, he visit all the country and knew a lot of pleaces and people. I also know a little about the historical places of Italy. The Roman Empire left behind many constructions, monuments, temples and other things, that tell us things about his history, and you can visit this places in Italy.

I would like to visit all this historical places that I talk about, to eat a lot of italian food, as pastas and pizza and to know people.

I would like to study there maybe for a couple of months or go to work as an archeologist when I finish my carrer, but I think that may be better to go just as a tourist to have relaxing vacations.  I hope some day I will be there.

Zombies

Run!!!! 

That's probably the first thing that you will listen if zombies are coming 

Zombies are people how died and become alive again. 

I hear about zombies for the first time years ago in a movie, there are a lot of movies and books about zombies, and now is a mainstream topic, because of movies like "Resident evil" or shows like The Walking dead" everybody is talking about zombies. But there are a lot of ways to imagine a zombie, some people (and because of some movies) believe that zombies are dumb and slow, that just move around like stupid trying to bite somebody. But other people think in very smarts zombies, fasts an strong (like the one that you can see in "I'm legend")  

I really don't believe that zombies exist. I believe that they are fiction characters, but there are some people that believe that they are real, and someones has joined to zombies cult, but I don't know anybody that has did it.

I never was really afraid to zombies, I think that because the mostly of movies shows them like stupids being, but I have some friends that when we was child really were afraid of it.   

Zombies are really interesting, and stories about zombies are listened all around the world.   

Giovanni Belzoni

A person that I admire is Giovanni Belzoni. he was born in Italy on 1778 but latter he travel to England and he worked there as an strong man in a circus. Years after that he traveled to Egipto, and he started exploring tombs and selling archaeology materials to important persons or museums. He discovered a lot of things, and has a lot of adventures, he wrote a book of his adventures and discovery called "

Narrative of the Operations and Recent Discoveries within the Pyramids, Temples, Tombs and Excavations in Egypt and Nubia, &c". Belzoni explored Elephantine (Jazirat Aswan) and the Temple of Edfu (Idfu). In 1818 he became the first person in modern times to enter the pyramid of Khafre at Giza. He was also one of the first Europeans to visit the oasis of Siwa, and he identified the ruins of Berenice on the Red Sea.

I like him because he do very interesting things, his adventures includes things like run away from the army, the police, and natives, some people consider him a tomb raider, and disapprove his methods because he disregarded many items that did not interest him and must have damaged much in pursuit of his goal, but it doesn´t matter to anybody in his time 

Maybe he didn't make big contributions to archaeology in theory but he found a lot of important material that actually is showed in big museums or expositions.

 

                                             

Books

I really love to read, I think that it is probably because my mother makes me read a lot when I was a child. I don´t know how much books I have read, but it is a big number. I have a lot of books in my room and a have read it all.

I think that I prefer fiction books, my favorite book could be “Ensayo sobre la cegera” written by José Saramago, or maybe “Brave New World” whose author is Aldous Huxley.  But what I really now is that my favorite character of literature is Sherlock Holmes, I think that this character is very interesting, he is very smart and cleaver and he is also weird, but it makes him more special.

I recently read “The silence of the lambs” written by Thomas Harris.  I read it very fast, just in a few days. It is about a student of FBI academy who needs to catch a killer, and for that she goes to a mental hospital to talk whit a psychopathic called Hannibal Lecter, who was a famous psychiatrist that starts killing and eating people. He was really smart and manipulator; he will confuse her and search the opportunity to escape. It is a very interesting book, whit a lot of action and suspense. I really love it.     

A different photo

Today I’m going to talk about a very special photo. I took this photo when we went to a trekking excursion whit a group of friends. It shows a paraglider whit the sun behind him, also you can see a big part of Santiago, the light of the sunset gives it a very special effect.

 I took this photo on February 13^th, 2014 in El Cajón del Maipo. I like it because it looks magic, the view is beautiful and the sunset over the paraglider shows us something different. Also this photo reminds me a very good week that I spent whit my friends in this vacations, also a very good day climbing the mountain. I think that the photo transmits you in some way the sensation of being in this place, of having this beautiful view. Also when I see this picture I can imagine why this paraglider does what he does. Finally this photo brings to my memory the gratifying sensation of arriving to the summit of a mountain after a big sacrifice and having a reward, in this case this view was enough.

About the animals.

I don’t know if I’m an animal’s lover but I like them and really makes me angry to see anybody hurting them.

The first pet I got was a dog, a big one that had the same age than me. He lived in my house for thirteen years and then he dies. I was very sad and in this moment I don’t want to have another dog. A few months later I change my mind and I really want to have another dog, then I got the golden retriever that I actually have.

I’m agree of using animals in medical research only if this research don’t hurts the animals of if they aren’t  abused in the process. About the zoo I think that is good the work that they do with animals that are in danger, or when they help some hurt animal, but I’m not agree of keeping them in the zoo just for people to see them.

When I was just a kid a big dog bite me in the head, I just want to caress him. It was really painful and I needed to go to the hospital. After that I started to be vaccinate for the rabies. It wasn't funny, but it  doesn't make me be afraid of dogs.

If I could be an animal I think that I would choose to be an eagle to be able to fly and see a lot of things, to travel far away, and don’t be worried for others animals can eat me.
